Vintage 1960 Blond Ponytail Barbie 4 Doll Stock 850 Japan. Vintage Ponytail Barbie #4 is in good vintage condition. She does not have earrings, pedestal, stand or sunglasses (photos 1,3). There is no “greening” of the holes in her ears (photo 3). Her hair has not been styled or combed, and she is a little dirty, as I did not want to risk damaging her. Her fingernail and toenail polish is intact and still quite vivid (photos 5,6). Her swimsuit is a little dusty and dirty, but intact and fits with no sag (photo 7). Her right buttock is marked: Barbie TM PATS PEND C (circled)MCMLVIII BY MATTEL INC. She has been stored for at least 40 years in a tissue-lined box. The box shows heavy signs of wear and damage due to age and storage conditions. The box is discolored, has minor stains, tears, scrapes; the upper top end of the box is torn off (photos 10,11,12). Ponytail Barbie #4 dates from about 1960. Good condition for a 59 year old doll!
