Vintage kokeshi doll called “Country Girl” by master Yoshio Otani (1936-). Master Yoshio Ohtani was born in 1936. He began making kokeshi dolls in 1968 and has received many awards for his beautiful dolls: the Agriculture Award in 1978 and the Secretary of the Interior Award in 1982, as well as many other awards over the years. A rare doll, in a beautiful kimono with Japanese cranes. The set includes a plate with the signature and seal of the author. In good condition with minor signs of age and use. Barbie’s “Country Club Dance” (outfit #1627) was only available in 1965 and is very hard to find, especially in near mint/mint condition. This listing is for the COMPLETE outfit and includes the following. Elegant sleeveless white crepe and gold lame’ dress. Full skirt has two diagonal accent stripes of gold and white lame’. Bodice matches the stripes. All gold threads are very shiny and none are missing, snagged or pulled. Well attached gold braid straps with no fraying. It’s unusual to find these straps attached so firmly and without any fraying. Smooth working YKK zipper. No stains, tears, holes or repairs. Very clean and unwrinkled with no unpleasant odors. Black and white Barbie® tag, as well as the paper inspection tag, is attached. Pair of white closed toe heels with no splits. The left one is marked Japan. Original outfit had spike heels. Pair of long white tricot gloves with no snags, pulls or runs. Shiny dimpled gold foil clutch with golden bead button closure. Foil has not peeled. Graduated pearl necklace with working clasp. Some oxidation on the clasp due to age and the smaller pearls are slightly darker than the three larger ones. A white filigree Barbie hanger is included; the dress form is not.
