Awards : All Japan Kokeshi Competition Winner. Vintage mint kokeshi has been stored in the original box since the1960s/70s. Vintage Japanese Sosaku Kokeshi. Sosaku is a term that literally translated as “creative” and those creative koseshi allow the artist complete freedom in terms of shape, design and color while traditional kokeshi exhibits a similar recognizable style and character. The history of creative kokeshi is quite new and they were developed after World War II. They are not particular to a specific region of Japan and generally creative kokeshi artists are found in cities.

Add me to your favorites list- new items added weekly. Vintage Ponytail Barbie Doll. This doll is in excellent, near mint condition and has no green ear, no neck splits, no haircuts or missing plugs. One strand is broken off (see pic). The top knot is original, the lower band is a replacement. Hair color is a golden blonde. Face paint is all original with no worn areas. There are taps at the ears but it doesn’t appear earrings were ever inserted. Fingernail and toenail polish isn’t 100% but most of it remains. Body is marked Barbie only (not Midge/Barbie). Legs are straight and not splayed, limbs are tight. The right hip has a small smudge of a stain, see last pic. There are no chew marks, scrapes, there is a very pale pink line on the left front thigh (see pic of front torso). Look at the pictures and if I have left anything unanswered, please ask. Vintage Brunette 850 Ponytail with Barbie only body was made by Mattel in 1961. Barbie is mine from youth, Barbie still has original top knot on head rubber band has broken. Her hair is thick and full, shiny and bright, with original top knot. Face color is original, lips have faded to white, common with this year. Barbie has original ear holes only; ear area has a bit of discoloration. Her body is great, not soiled and no discoloration, no issues. Arms and legs are tight and hold pose. Red paint on all fingers and toes. She comes dressed in original zebra swimsuit (stole not included). Body is correctly marked Barbie T. Japan is on her foot. #1 blonde Ponytail Barbie With Original box. She has been fully alcohol tested, eyes, brows and lips. All make up looks to be original. She does not have eyelash ridge rubs, that is just a reflection. She has beautiful thick long hair and really soft full bangs. Her head and body have retained lots of color and match perfectly. She her original top knot, which is VERY hard to find. There are NO neck splits , nose nip or green ear. Her feet have shoe stains. She has the appropriate T. M butt markings for a number one Barbie. She has Japan in the rare older square box on her heel rather than the later vertical markings. Her box is excellent and is Marked with the appropriate hair color, the the box has some discoloration.
