Approximate Height of Dolls : 8 inches tall. Measurements of chairs : Width: 3.25″ Height: 7.25″ Depth: 3.25. Please read entire description below. Description : Adorable, one-of-a-kind pair of vintage Japanese dolls. Dolls were stored in protective casing all these years and were never exposed to dust or any other environmental factors. They appear to be made of a plastic material (no porcelain or soft-fabric parts at all). The material is sturdy. Both dolls are jointed and movable for posing and positioning. Identical chairs are made of red painted wood, with seats constructed of basket weave. Traditional kimonos; fabric is unknown, but possibly made of silk materials. Dolls’ faces are extremely detailed, and feature delicately carved mouths, nostrils, and chin. Brown eyes appear to be made of glass. Dolls are stamped “Japan” (shown in photos), which appear to be the only identifying markers found. An original collection that is truly unique. I’m trying my best to accurately describe the details from the information I was able to gather. I received these dolls from my aunt before she passed away in the 1990’s. She was an avid doll collector who kept her large collection of dolls in pristine condition. All of her dolls were protected inside dust-free, ventilated display cases. She was meticulous with her collection and all of her dolls had their original boxes, papers, etc. I do not have the original box either, which also makes me think it’s possible they never came in a box. So unfortunately very little is known about these dolls and this description is merely a lay-person’s interpretation. I’ve done countless searches and have been unable to find any similar dolls online in order to obtain any background information on them. My aunt knew that I did not collect dolls and said I was free to sell them (it was important to her that her dolls go to a true doll collector). Please review photos carefully.
