This rare Brownette Bubblecut Barbie looks like a movie star, and she definitely has a Garbo-like vibe! This beauty is hard to find; she is only the second one that I’ve ran across in 30+ years! Very few brownette Bubble Barbies were made, as it seems Mattel changed their plans partway through production. I think they made a mistake as this warm sable brown color looks quite lovely on Barbie. This beauty is from the estate of an adult collector, and she will come with her original black/white zebra swimsuit, and will arrive in a display box. The autumn haze mink coat and Pak gold lame sheath are not included in this sale, but they do look great on her. Barbie has a nice full bubble hair-do, with no missing plugs. Her hair is a warm brown sable color, not to be confused with raven black bubblecuts or the darker, later 1962 Fudge Brunette color. She has retouched make-up on her lips and brows. She doesn’t have any green ear, nose nips, or neck tears. Her Near Mint body has the older Barbie MCMLVIII marking on the right butt cheek, and is a hollow body. She has all of her nail polish, and her joints are tight. She has a small air bubble at the top of her right thigh, see close-up pic. There is a thin flap of vinyl over a pinhead size small hole in the thigh. There is a tiny dark speck on the back of her right calf; it is a pin point speck and doesn’t show up in the pics. Her original swimsuit is Near Mint; it’s clean and has great elastic at the top. Barbie will arrive in a clear plastic display box with a cardboard liner.
