Japanese Exclusive Barbie 1960 MOD RARE VINTAGE PLAID DRESS +ACCESSORIES NO DOLL
PLEASE NOTE: The Stacey doll is not included in the sale. I will be posting this item from London, UK. From my personal collection a rare vintage Japanese Japan market exclusive Barbie plaid dress with chain link belt and orange spike heels. The items came to me with the striped long-sleeved knit top and I have created a reproduction felt hat to complete the outfit. The details about this rare Mattel Japanese Market Barbie fashion are as follows. The gorgeous check (plaid / tartan) dress is in excellent condition. The dress is very crisp, like new, with good stiff pleats to the skirt, no marks or pulls or holes and a very good zip and lining. Typically it is not tagged, as seen with other examples of this and some other Japanese exclusive clothes, but is a confirmed vintage and uncatalogued Japanese market fashion from the 1960s. The dress has string loops for the metal chain link belt to thread through. Gold-coloured chain link belt is in very good vintage condition and threads through the string belt loops of the dress. The orange spike pumps /. Shoes complete the look and are excellent. The striped top came to me with the dress and although different to the yellow top I have seen teamed with this dress in other collections, it does compliment it very well. It has metal press-stud popper closures and is in very good condition, apart from the thread on one cuff is missing. I do not believe this is original to the fashion, but a very nice complimentary vintage. The felt hat is a reproduction that I have created to top off the outfit, using a vintage 1960s Skipper hat headband and vintage Skipper hat ribbon in a colour-match to the original. A really gorgeous Japan Market Barbie fashion that would look wonderful as part of a vintage Barbie collection. I can supply more photographs if required.
