Rare Antique Vtg 1930’s INDIANA USA WPA PROJECT JAPANESE Japan Doll Lot OOAK

From a very nice collection of WPA dolls, be sure to check out my other listings if you’re interested. Up for sale is a pair of beautiful WPA dolls. These dolls were made in Indiana and were probably in a museum or school at some point. Dolls are approximately 14 tall and are in excellent condition. The woman doll does have a little wear to the forehead, but overall she is in great condition for the age. These were stored in a handmade box with a glass front, the boxes alone weigh 14 pounds. The main picture doesn’t show the glass because I couldn’t get a good picture with it there, but it’s in great shape, slides in and out of the box. These were part of the WPA (Works Progress Administration) project that commissioned women to produce dolls between the years of 1935 to 1942 as part of a federal program during the Great Depression. Some were made as children’s toys, mostly cloth and filled with cotton. Other dolls were produced as visual aids for schools and museums, like the dolls in this listing. They have composition heads and cloth bodies. These truly are works of art, the clothes alone are amazing in the quality and attention to detail. Please feel free to request more pictures. 12 Vintage Porcelain JAPAN Bisque Dolls, 1920s 1930s, RARE COLLECTION OFFERED

Group of 12 antique vintage collectible porcelain bisque dolls, pre-WWII, and probably from the 1920s to the 1930s. Eleven (11) are clearly marked with JAPAN on them, while one has no markings (the doll with the dark green hair). All the dolls are in very good condition. One Doll, the DutchBoy, has part of his foot chipped off. Several of the dolls arms have come off, but are still included and can easily be re-assembled by a knowledgeable doll collector. Ten (10) of the dolls are jointed. Some of the dolls are fully dressed as seen in all the photos. In one of the photos, a ruler on the left indicates the height of the dolls, which are about 3-1/2 inches tall. All the dolls are approximately this height. This is truly a lovely and adorable collection, rarely offered in such a nice early set. Also included is an EXTRA set of dolls arms, in the event this is needed one day on any of the dolls.. Vintage Darling 1930’s Bisque Jointed Dionne Quintuplet 5 Dolls Made in Japan

This is a darling set of quintuplet dolls made in the 1930’s after the Dionne quintuplets were born. They are 5 1/4 high, arms and legs move. They are attached with string. The paint on their faces is in very good condition; reddish blonde hair, blue eyes, dark brows, rosy cheeks and a pink mouth. The dolls mouths are open a little in order to hold on to the paper pacifier. There are 2 pacifiers that have bent a little and are somewhat hard to insert. The dolls come with their own dress, pacifier, diaper and an extra diaper in each box. There is a cute printed dress on each doll and. 3 extra dresses and 2 jump suits are included. I don’t know if these are original or not. 2 of the dresses are cut out but not sewn. Each doll is in it’s own box, no lid. Overall condition is excellent. These have been stored for a long time, they look brand new. Dolls are marked on their backs: Made in Japan.
