Japanese SOSAKU Kokeshi Doll Vintage 8 Black Top Hair 3 Head 1970s

Google translates one word as “Sendai”. Tall black top-knot, cone-shaped. Brown & Tan Wood. Weighs about 8.5 oz. These came from the aunt of my friend. The aunt was a missionary overseas and died in 1978. She was in Pusan and Seoul much of my friend’s childhood, so a good guess is that these are from some time in the late 60’s until 1978. For a fun story about the aunt, when one of the huge underground tunnels from the North was discovered and the families of the servicemen were evacuated stateside, she and a chaplain chose to remain to do what they could in case of an invasion. VINTAGE TALKING BARBIE HEAD ON TNT BODY IN TWINKLE TOGS? Gorgeous long side ponytail with replaced ribbon. Her hair has not been cut and there are no missing hair plugs. No neck splits, no earring holes, so no green ear or nose nips. She is missing some lashes on both eyes. Her makeup is All Original – no touch ups. Body: No paling on legs and arms. Her limbs are firmly attached to her torso. No missing digits, no pinpricks on her feet but there’s a tiny scuff on her foot and a small stain on her left leg, please look at the pictures. She doesn’t have nail paint on fingers and toenails. Her body is in nice condition, with minor played-with wear, scuffs, scratches. She comes in a Twist’N Turn body.
