Please only serious inquiries. The story I was told about Asami is as follows. Aokigahara is sometimes referred to as the most popular site for suicide in Japan. In 2003, 105 bodies were found in the forest, exceeding the previous record of 78 in 2002. In 2010, the police recorded more than 200 people having attempted suicide in the forest, of whom 54 completed the act. Suicides are said to increase during March, the end of the fiscal year in Japan. As of 2011, the most common means of suicide in the forest were hanging or drug overdose. In recent years, local officials have stopped publicizing the numbers in an attempt to decrease Aokigahara’s association with suicide. Asami was found in the early 1950s by a American couple hiking in the Forest. She was inside a tent that a little girl was found passed away laying next to her. The little girl’s father was an American that had died in an accident. The little girls mother could not go on after his death and went to the forest with her. In her fragile state of mine she was unaware that the cold temperature would be deadly to her daughter if she was not found in a timely manner. It was very cold and the little girl died of exposure. The family members said the doll was the little girls favorite thing in life. The gramma of the little girl gave the doll to the couple for finding her granddaughter. She said she would have wanted them to have it. The couple kept in touch with the family through the years. The hair on Asami is that if the little girls that was taken from her first haircut the gramma said. The doll was hand made by her grandmother. She had made it to look like the famous Japanese Friendship Dolls. The gramma was a skilled doll maker by trade. I acquired Asami from the great grand daughter of the couple who Asami was given to. She wanted someone that was more experienced on the paranormal to take care of her and give her what she needs. There is still vintage newspaper under her dress from Asia.
