Pictures can barely do this beautiful Japanese market exclusive Francie gown justice! It was NEVER on a doll. Personally removed it for safe storage and eventual display, but never did. This shade of Mattel’s pink satin is somewhat vulnerable to fading and blotchiness if not stored and displayed properly. So it’s been in an air-tight, light-free container. I always recommend that collectors avoid sunlight and fluorescent light in their display cases and rooms. This satin was spared any light damage or acid damage from inferior (non-acid free) tissue paper, cardboard or plastic bags. The fabric is genuine satin. I love the dusty rose pink, almost pale lavender color. And the beading is truly art. The little hand-sewn beads are actually translucent! Zoom in on my close up photo… They’re so delightful! This outfit and all it’s accessories are mint and without flaw. You’re looking at sheer perfection. The genuine fur stole is beautiful – fresh and very white (more than most of the photos), virtually untouched and with no molting, and it’s white satin lining is like the day it was made, over 40 years ago! The only time the snaps on the back of the gown were opened was for this photo shoot. Note the crisp, un-frayed tag I’ve shown in the close-up picture. This never displayed outfit even includes the little eyelash brush in it’s unopened cellophane bag. Francie needs to keep those long fluttery lashes at their best, especially for a night on the town in this showstopper. All other accessories are mint and included. They are: long white gloves, beautiful pink pearls, dimpled silver clutch purse, white pumps made of soft vinyl… And the eyelash brush. Fully complete and out of the same original packaging. If you’re an extremely discerning collector and like the best in Barbie family vintage, this is for you!
