Can a girl be too glamorous? I would say no, but this pretty Blonde #6 Ponytail Barbie comes very close. This lovely doll is from 1963, and she has survived the years very well. She has had some restoration work done, so she is not for the “Mint” collector; but she does look quite vibrant and new. Her lips were retouched as they had rubs, but her brows were all there, just a bit light, so they were color-washed. All of the retouching is done with water based acrylic, so it is removable with soap and water if you don’t like it. Her hair was professionally retied into a ponytail with a hard curl at the bottom. Though she is modeling Golden Elegance, that outfit is not included in this sale. She will come with her original red Helenca swimsuit. Please note that the Kaiser doll stand is not included in this sale. If you have a question that I haven’t addressed in the description, please ask me. Barbie has loads of thick curly bangs, and she has the wider face mold with the chubbier cheeks that is distinctive of the #6 ponytail dolls. Her silky ponytail looks great with its hard curl, and her hair is a pretty light blonde color. Most of my pics are pretty accurate for the hair color; she has a nice light blonde, not the Ash Blonde hair color. Her skin tone has stayed light; she hasn’t darkened from smoke or other environmental things. Besides the color wash on her brows, she was given a little blush with the water-based acrylic, so she has a healthy glow! Her coral lips were retouched in the original style and shape of the #6 dolls’ lips, so she looks as she originally did. No green ears, neck tears, or nose nips. Barbie’s body is the later version, marked Midge 1962/Barbie 1958 on her right butt cheek. Her body is in Excellent+ shape, with all of her nail polish, and nice tight limbs. Her torso doesn’t show hardly any play wear. She does have 2 dark pinpoint specks on the back of her left thigh. One speck barely shows up in the back view body shot pic #11, the other speck is fainter and doesn’t show up in the pic. She also has a faint pinkish dot, smaller than a pinhead, on the side of her left calf. I don’t think it will bother you, as it isn’t very noticeable. Barbie’s red Helenca swimsuit has a small run at the center of the front 3/4 long. There are also a couple spots of soil at the front neckline, which my photos washed out. If you wash the swimsuit, it should display well. You will enjoy looking at this pretty girl in your vintage Barbie display!
