Vintage BRUNETTE SWIRL PONYTAIL BARBIE IN ORIGINAL RED HELENCA SWIMSUIT

Barbie has a beautiful face. Her lips were faded and had paint loss so a light color wash was added for display but it could use another touch up as it is starting to fade. She has no neck splits and no nose nips but was treated for green ear. A bit of green remained as shown so was color washed for display. Color wash can be removed with soap and water if desired. Her hair is full and uncut with no missing hair plugs, just needs styling. The yellow ribbon in hair is not original. She’s on a Midge/Barbie straight leg body in good condition with some fingernail and toenail polish visible. She could use a gentle cleaning to remove light ink? Spots here and there on legs. Vintage 1966 Mattel Color Magic Barbie Doll Pristine NM Condition

Beautiful 1966 Color Magic Barbie doll #1150 wearing her original swimsuit, scarf and aqua heels in clean, near mint condition. A vintage Color Magic ribbon serves as her belt and she has no barrette. Her hair is “Golden Blonde/Scarlet Flame” — it was “Color Magically” changed from blonde to light orange before I bought her several years ago and has remained that way ever since. She has no missing hair plugs and no hair trims. Her hair is fragile as is the case with many Color Magic dolls, and hers was not sewn in as thickly as were some, but all hair plugs are there. The hair plugs along her left temple were sewn in somewhat far apart (see photo #8), and while it may look like some are missing they are not. A tiny paint rub on her upper lip has been professionally retouched. All other paint is original. She has amazing high color face paint with beautiful full lips, smokey eyeshadow and blush. Her nail polish has no rubs and she even has some toenail polish remaining. She has nice even skin tone with no tanning, yellowing or fading. There are no earring holes, no green, no pin pricks anywhere, no nose nips, no chew marks or scratches and no neck splits. She has no odors. She doesn’t appear to have ever been played with. Her right knee bends three positions and holds all three. Her left leg bends 3 positions and holds two. Legs and arms are tight at torso — nothing is swingy. Swimsuit and scarf are clean and have no runs. She will come carefully packed and insured. From a non-smoking home. 1965 Vintage Barbie AMERICAN GIRL #1070 Blonde swimsuit & shoes withhomemade box

Note: BOX IS A HOMEMADE VERSION FOR DISPLAY. You dont see these every day! Why not treat yourself or surprise the vintage Barbie lover in your life? Mattel initially called this doll the” Bendable Leg” Barbie rather than the “American Girl” Barbie. But because of her page-boy style hair, it was eventually changed to the American Girl. This is a Beautiful, Blonde American Girl Barbie doll in Good condition complete with the original outfit/shoes. The black wire stand is not correct for this doll (should be brass), but is included. Box is a SCAN of an original I have and is a HOME-MADE by hand version (not vintage, but nice for display). The doll is not perfect, but very lovely and displays well. An affordable version of this more difficult to find Barbie. Pend Made In Japan with the number 6 on the left side cheek. The face paint looks excellent with no loss that I can detect. The earring holes have some faint greening tinge (see close ups) but dont stand out and hasnt spread any in the many years we have owned her. Most of the fingernail paint is intact. No touch-ups or alterations. The hair is in nice shape and has not been cut or altered in any way. Arms and legs are tight and move/pose well. Both legs have some chipping/poke marks on them. Not sure what might have caused this? There are 2 dark spots on the calf on the left leg. The original one-piece striped swim-suit is tagged with fabric tag, Barbie & Japan and is in excellent shape. The turquoise open-toe heels are very good marked Japan on one sole. She is a truly lovely example of the American Girl doll, as you can see from the photographs, and our pricing reflects the flaws described. She would be a wonderful addition to any vintage, Barbie collection! American Girl Barbie 1965 1967. And, she wasn’t the only one that got bendable legs that year; so did Ken, Allan, Midge and Skipper. Barbie had blue eyes, various lip colors, and a choice of light blonde, ash blonde, yellow blonde, titian/red, brunette, platinum blonde hair colors. Most American Girl dolls had a shorter page-boy style haircut, but there are some harder to find dolls with bubble cut, side-part, and longer middle-part styles. These dolls sell for more on the secondary market. Some of these rare dolls came with high color faces as well. The first issue dolls had indented intaglio markings (like Miss Barbie), but the later issue dolls came with the raised intaglio marks on her bottom. She’s sure a beauty, and one of my favorites! Pend Made In Japan. Included with the doll in the box were her one-piece striped swim-suit, turquoise open-toe heels, gold wire stand and booklet.
