This is a vintage Mattel Growin’ pretty hair “Francie” doll from 1970 & in good displayable condition. She is marked on her backside 1966, Mattel inc, US pat. Her eyelashes are nice and thick, she has no earring holes, and her hair still looks good. Her makeup looks fine, complexion (head), has yellowed… Very common with this doll. To me, her face looks a tad greasy? I did see a tiny (blue) bruised area on the inside of one knee. Her original dress does show some wear… Typical with this outfit. She is wearing pink squishy heels, marked Japan, (one has a blue spot on the outside). Overall, this doll still displays fine. I do not know whether her hair still retracts. I really don’t want to pull at her ponytail and risk the chance of breaking her. I’m just going to say that it doesn’t, since I can’t test it. Francie does need a replacement rubber band in her hair, I will be providing two pink (new) rubber bands that you can use. This doll is not for the “minty” collector, it is a very good starter doll for a vintage Barbie/Francie collection. These pictures were taken with a flash, as it’s a little later in the evening here.
