An impressive approximately 18-inch Japanese Oyama Ningyo doll depicting Fuji Musume , the “Wisteria Maiden, ” a classic Japanese subject associated with traditional dance and Kabuki. This striking doll features an exceptionally detailed multi-colored floral kimono in rich shades of blue, red, orange and purple, accented by a dramatic black-and-gold brocade obi. She carries a long branch of cascading purple wisteria and has an elaborate traditional hairstyle with decorative ornaments. A particularly beautiful feature is the large black accessory decorated with hand-painted-style green and purple wisteria motifs and gold-colored detailing.
