Yamanaka Sanpei, a distinguished artist in the kokeshi community, has received over 20 awards for his exquisite creations, including the prestigious “Prime Minister Award” in 1979. In addition to his kokeshi artistry, Sanpei-san was also a gifted photographer, earning multiple accolades for his photography in the 1960s.
