Vintage Japanese geisha souvenir doll acquired by my father on a trip to Japan in the 1970s. The doll features a finely detailed kimono in richly patterned brocade fabric, a traditional, handpainted hat, styled black hair, and delicate facial painting. She carries a flowering branch and stands on a black wooden display base. Her face, neck and hands appear to be porcelain or ceramic; no maker’s marks found. Height: approximately 14 inches (including base and hat). Base: approximately 4.25″ x 5.25″.
