Vintage Barbie Doll Casual City Girl Made In Japan w/ Box Takara. Takara Barbie was licensed by Takara Martel in 1981 and was released in Japan in February 1982. As the license agreement was nearing its expiration date, negotiations were held between Takara, who had intended to extend the agreement, and Mattel, who had proposed terminating the agreement, and it was decided that the name Takara Barbie would be used until the end of April 1986. This makes this Barbie doll a hard to come by item. Item Length : 11 in. Item Width : 4 in. The product has signs of use such as very slight scratches and stains.
