This beautiful pair of vintage Japanese Kokeshi Dolls is in good pre-owned condition with minor signs of age, but no damage. I was told that they are approx. 60 years old and my research leads me to believe that they might be as old as post WW2 or Occupied Japan. Exquisite and detailed artwork, just stunning! The images feature poems / waka from the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu (Japanese Anthology of 100 waku by 100 artists). Signed at bottom (I was not able to determine the artist unfortunately). Heads slightly nod / bobble. Female doll with hair ornament. 8 1/2 tall; the female doll weighs approx. 13 ounces, the male doll approx. All of my items come from a clean, non-smoking home.
